Will Biddick, 28, is the new British record-holder for winners ridden in one season. His victory on the Claire Hitch-trained Bernshaw in the Restricted at Bratton Down was his 57th of the campaign, thus overtaking the 56 set by Oliver Greenall in 2007/8 and equalled by his brother Thomas the following year. The Point-to-Point Authority (PPA) is the body responsible for the administration, management, promotion and development of the amateur sport of Point-to-Point Horseracing in Great Britain. Two opportunities have arisen to join the PPA team owing to the relocation of the company's office. Both roles will assist with the administration and promotion of one of horseracing's most cherished assets. 28 April 2015 It's A Knockout!

Recently retired Will Telfer has proved himself as adept in the boxing ring as he was in the saddle [see news item, April 17th]. He was scheduled to go three two-minute rounds against an ultra-confident opponent, but after the latter had been floored twice by Will in the second round and looked distinctly groggy, the referee stopped the fight, declaring Will the winner on a technical knockout. Three times Yorkshire area champion Chris Dawson completed a century in Point-to-Points when taking the young horse Maiden at Easingwold on Roll The Dough. His initial victory was on Pennyman at Hutton Rudby in 2002, and he has also partnered 14 winners under Rules. READ MORE

Please be aware that pony racing at the Axe Vale Point-to-Point on Sunday starts at 12 noon - there are problems getting into the course when the ponies are running so racegoers are asked to bear this in mind. Successful South Midlands based rider Will Telfer, 28, has made the decision to hang up his boots. Having recently started a new job as a field sales consultant with a BT communications company, and this week purchased a house with his partner Lara Mahon, he explained that his priorities have changed, with racing no longer taking precedence. 07 April 2015 Changes to access - Clifton-on-Dunsmore (Atherstone, Sunday 19th April)

Due to health and safety advice from the police changes have been made to the layout of the horse box park and car access to the course at Clifton -on-Dunsmore. The horsebox park will now be situated on the same side as the course. Access to the parking area will be through the farmyard then turn right down the hard track and into the field on the right. Horse boxes to be parked facing down hill and will leave through the gate at the bottom of the field turning left back up the hard track to the farm yard. Access for cars and horse boxes approaching from the north i.e. Atherstone and Hinckley, will need to turn right off the A5 at the end of the dual carriageway following the signs into Clifton village then left out of the village and turn right into the course through the farm yard. Hannah Watson recorded her first treble - "in 14 seasons of trying" she laughed - at Bitterley. She won the Restricted on Midnights'Mischief for trainer Alastair Ralph, and followed up in the Ladies' Open on Minella For Party and the 3m Maiden on Union Du Chenet, both for Tor Collins. The two winners of Sunday's Subaru Restricted Point-to-Point Series races at Friars Haugh and Cocklebarrow, both secured the second wins of their careers. 05 January 2015 Profile: Max Kendrick

What originally looked like being a busy weekend for Max Kendrick could have ended in anti-climax, with none of his three declared rides under Rules, one at Sandown and two at Plumpton, meeting their engagements. The good news, though, was that the loss of the Sunday bookings enabled him to take the mount on the Joan Johnston-trained Native Pride at Larkhill, a ride which he had thought he would have to forgo. The seven-year-old duly obliged, his superior jumping seeing him home.

Horseheath Point-To-Point course was given a clean bill of health at a highly successful if rain-soaked public schooling day at the Haverhill venue on Sunday November 23rd. Over 50 horses braved the deluge to either school over fences or exercise around the course and the reaction of trainers and jockeys was universally positive. Point-to-Point trainer Rose Loxton has announced the retirement of the prolific winning gelding Gwanako. The 11-year-old, owned by The Stewart family, had won a total of over £240,00 in prize money during his career under Rules.
