Special Order's Restricted success gave new champion jockey Oliver Greenall the one victory he needed to exceed the record number of winners ridden in a season, the 54 set by Ashley Farrant in 2004. Fittingly, the five-year-old is owned by his father Lord Daresbury, who as Peter Greenall won the title three times in the eighties, and they therefore become only the second father and son to achieve the feat, following in the footsteps of Michael (1969) and Nigel (1994) Bloom. Oliver Greenall became only the third rider to partner 50 Point-to-Point winners in one season when The Fairhill Boy, trained by Cherry Coward, took the Intermediate, and he still has Ashley Farrant's record of 54 in his sights. The other man to achieve the half-century was Richard Burton, whose 50 successes earned him the championship runner-up spot behind Ashley in 2004. READ MORE
