13 January 2012 Good news from the Tompsett camp
by Carolyn Tanner
Isabel Tompsett has achieved one of her ambitions, that of being able to go to Oaksey House, where she has been living independently from Monday to Friday since before Christmas.
She still needs 16 hours of rest every day, but her daily two hours of physiotherapy includes a programme of weights, using the rowing machine and swimming to help improve her left-hand side, which does not work as well as her right, said her partner John Llewellyn.
Her eyes are still not working together, but as they are still repairing, an assessment will not be made until one year after the date of her accident.
She is obviously not yet able to handle horses on her own, but she has already made a return to her veterinary work, performing such tasks as administering flu jabs when she has been at home.
