The popular Warwickshire Bank Holiday meeting at Mollington is now just 10 days away, so this bulletin gives you advance information on the arrangements.

Going and Weather Prospects

Clerk of the Course Ken Hutsby has reported that the going is currently Good to Firm and that watering will commence next week. The forecast is for the dry, mild weather to continue up to the Bank Holiday weekend, turning slightly colder next week.

I will update the going and weather prospects on the run-up to the meeting, particularly if there is any significant change to the forecast.

Entries should be made be made by telephone or online to the Point to Point Racing Company with a closing time of 12.30pm on Monday 24 April. See page 274 of the Planner for details.

There are seven races – Mens and Ladies Opens, a Club Members Conditions race, a Hunt Members race, a Restricted and two Maidens. One is open to PPORA Members and is over the full three-mile trip and the other is for four, five and six-year-olds over about two-and-a-half miles.

Point-to-pointing is a great family day out. There will be a number of trade stands and childrens attractions and dogs are welcome (please keep them on leads). You can picnic at your car or choose your own spot and there is a bar and several food and drink outlets. There will be a hound parade between the third and fourth races and children are welcome into the paddock to meet the hounds.

Car Parking

Entry is £10 per adult (children under 16 go free).

To reserve a numbered car parking spot overlooking the course and the finishing straight so you can enjoy a picnic alongside your friends, please contact [email protected]. These premium spots, with great viewing, can be purchased for £60 (price includes admission for all occupants).

Mollington is on the A423, five miles north of Banbury. Postcode OX17 1QE

Course Details

Mollington is a wide undulating galloping track with four long sweeping bends and stiff uphill finish and has always had the reputation of attracting large and good quality fields. Car parking good and viewing is above average, both inside and outside the course.

We hope you will join us for our second meeting of the year whether as an owner, trainer or racegoer.
