Hunter Chase Season

It's not all doom and gloom for January as the Hunter Chase season kicks off with a good card and even better prize money on offer giving us all something to look forward to...

The Hunters' Chase season kicks off again at Taunton on Wednesday 9th January, with entries closing on Thursday 3rd January; this will then be followed with a further four races before the end of the month.

All of the scheduled races in January are Opens, giving horses ample time and opportunity to qualify for the Cheltenham Foxhunter Race. Qualification for this race closes on the night of February 25th 2019. These Open races are run at distances of between 2 miles 4 furlongs and 3 miles 2 furlongs, and with a wide spread of locality, although there is no race in the north, or in Scotland.

There is some very generous prize money on offer again for these races, in fact it has increased in each of recent years. As a result, it is hoped that the races are well supported.
