The Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association Four-Year-Old Maiden Series
The PPA is delighted to announce that the Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association (TBA) has kindly agreed to sponsor the first ever Four-Year-Old Maiden Series.
The TBA has for several seasons been involved with British point-to-pointing, through sponsorship of mares’ only races and latterly the 3-2-1 bonus, and is pleased to have expanded its support with the introduction of this new series. The initiative builds on the TBA NH Committee’s core objectives, the encouragement of racing National Hunt stock earlier. There will be a series of five maiden races for four-year-olds only, starting in February 2022 and concluding in May 2022.
The new series supports the existing 4/5-year-old Maiden Series and recognises the increased numbers of young horses racing in British point-to-points in recent years. The TBA is committed to supporting British breeding and encourages horses to be tested on the racecourse, both in point-to-points and under Rules, for the benefit of the breed.
The series races will be held at the following fixtures:
Area | Meeting | Course | Date |
W | South & West Wilts | Larkhill | 27 February 2022 |
Y | Yorkshire Jockey Club | Charm Park | 06 March 2022 |
MID | Belvoir | Garthorpe | 20 March 2022 |
SM | Bicester | Edgcote | 03 April 2022 |
