    We have had our course inspection and due to the drying ground we have made the decision to use the agrivator on Thursday to open up the ground and then water to obtain good jumping ground. The course has a good grass covering .(Updated 3:45 pm on Tuesday 16th April 2019).

    A course inspection took place yesterday and the ground is now FIRM. Watering is in place with the aim of achieving Good to Firm for Saturday.     The Going is Good to Firm, Firm in places with moisture still in the ground. The racing line and landing/takeoff side of fences will be aggrivated over the next couple of days.Some of the fences and all of the bends have been moved from the previous meeting. The course is level and safe with a very good covering of grass. Seamus Mullins has advised he would be happy to race on the surface and will talk to any trainers with Going concerns.     Aldington has been irrigated at a 4m width on the racing line and between the start and along the finishing straight, it has been irrigated with a 9m width. The Going is consistently Good around the course (first fence to first bend will have more water to achieve this) and we are confident we can maintain good safe ground throughout with more irrigation as necessary and agriv Sun pm.     Thursday 18th April 2019: We will finish putting 60,000 Gallons of water on the course by 11.00 this morning and this will allow the reservoir to refill again for Sunday . Two water bowsers will operate all day Sunday to put another 60,000 Gallons on ready for racing on Monday. Going this morning remains Good . Course inspection by Stewards at 11.00 on Friday.     Thorpe Lodge bends have been moved to fresh virgin ground, the course has a good grass cover, with irrigation taking place on a daily basis. This consistent regular watering is expected to produce safe racing ground in accordance with previous years. The irrigation will continue until the evening prior to the Point to Point (unless there is significant rainfall) Further “going" updates to follow during the week ahead.

    The course has passes it's official inspection this morning. There is plenty of grass cover and the course was aerated last night and watering has started this morning. Where watered, the ground is GOOD and watering will continue with the hope that the course will be GOOD all round. (Updated 1 pm on 18th April 2019).
